Liquid roofing involves the application of a monolithic, fully bonded, liquid based coating to a roof. The coating cures to form a rubber-like elastomeric waterproof membrane, capable of stretching and returning to its original shape without damage. Such coating systems are usually reinforced with secondary materials such as glass-reinforced plastic to provide additional tensile strength. The coatings can be applied over most traditional roofing materials including, felt, asphalt, bitumen and concrete.
Unlike the installation processes of felt, asphalt and bitumen membranes, liquid roofing does not involve hot works. The coating material used in the liquid roofing process is applied cold, thus negating any fire risk.
Liquid Membrane are available in a variety of polymers, like, rubberised, acrylic, polyurea, polyurathene etc.
Efflorescence Resistant Coatings
Efflorescence occurs when moisture migrates from within either new or old masonry. As water moves through the brick, mortar, cement or concrete, it dissolves the salts in the masonry and mortar. The salts are then deposited on the surface as the water evaporates, leaving dirty white crystals.
There are two classifications of efflorescence—primary and secondary—distinguished by the point in time at which they occur in relation to the curing process.
The coatings are available in single and two component which act as a barrier at the opposite end to prevent the water ingress into the surface of the structure.
Nanotechnology Water Repellent
Nano technology waterproofing for enveloping building structures, long term protection from water seepages & deteriorations recently zydex industries in india has developed a waterproofing product that is known as zycosil which provides all three most desired properties. It is based on nano technology; it provides molecular level hydrophobicity to inorganic substrate. It is ecofriendly, because it is applied in water solution and voc per applied m2 is less than 20%compared to solvent based silanes. The product is based on organosilicon chemistry, hence reacts with the inorganic substrate surface and provides long service life of 20-30 years. Eco-friendly water based nano technology zycosil: zycosil is an organosilicon product, which forms a particle size of 4-6 çm in water and penetrates deep into the building material pores 3-5 mm. The product becomes part of the building material and makes it highly water repellent. The product has shown 4 major attributes: it is a long expected life of 20 to 30 years confirmed by weathering test data by astm methods. it is diluted 1:10 and more with tap water and emits extremely small amount of organics in the atmosphere making it eco-friendly. The product can be applied by brush, spray or roller techniques makes it user friendly. The product will be providing water repellency at a very economical material cost.
Two Component Cementitious Coatings
A two component cementitious coating, composed of high quality cement, properly selected & graded fillers, additives and liquid polymer.
It is suitable for achieving waterproofing for the water retaining structures such as swimming pools, water tanks, reservoirs, other wet areas, etc, because it provides strong bonding, good waterproofing and excellent resistant to hydrostatic water pressure by forming highly elastic seamless coating over the applied concrete or masonry surfaces.

Acrylic and SBR Polymer
Polymers have a wide variety of properties depending on their structure. The different uses of these materials in construction are innumerable. In the Polymer Technology area, research is carried out on the formulation and development of polymers, adhesives and coatings used in construction and on the study of adhesion phenomena that occur so that there is correct bonding between the different materials used in construction.
Acrylic and SBR polymers are widely used in concrete repair bonding and waterproofing.
Crystalline Concrete Waterproofing
Crystalline waterproofing technology uses concrete’s own permeability as a delivery system for waterproofing chemicals to travel the concrete’s pore network, plugging the capillary tracts with a non-soluble crystalline formation. The method also bridges micro-cracks that occur as the concrete dries and shrinks. The technology can even self-seal new micro-cracks after they occur, years after the original application.
The crystalline waterproofing chemistry can be introduced into new concrete as an admixture, a dry-shake product, or a surface-applied coating. For existing (i.e., cured) concrete, surface-applied coatings are used. The substrate must be wet for the chemicals to move through the concrete and for the chemical reaction to occur. With a surface coating application, the high concentration of chemicals at the surface naturally seeks to spread out or diffuse into the water saturated substrate. Keeping the concrete moist maintains a conduit for the chemicals to travel. A properly cured crystalline waterproofing application can spread 12 inches into the interior of the concrete structure.
